Born in Canada, but raised in the UK, Pippa has been attracted to gems and minerals since she was a child. Her early childhood international travels stimulated a fascination with other cultures. As a child, Pippa began to string them together beads, buttons, shells -- anything that held meaning for her -- to create jewelry that spoke to her, told her stories.
While studying anthropology, Pippa started making jewelry that attracted the attention of the fashion world. She has collaborated with Gucci, Nicole Farhi, and Chloe, and in her superb rough diamond collections, with Christina Kim of Dosa.
Pippa completed her MA in medical anthropology and has merged her interests in anthropology and jewelry design by working on craft initiatives with indigenous communities such as the San Bushman of the Kalahari, the Batwa Pygmies of Rwanda, the Kuna in Panama -- and now, the Afghan master artisans of Turquoise Mountain.
