Marie has a special place in her heart for the National Brain Tumor Society. Eleven years ago, in the prime of her legal career, Marie was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in her left brain. After two years of treatment and recovery, she searched for a place to make a difference. Because of various disabilities resulting from her tumor, finding a place was difficult. She found one in the NBTS. "I am so fortunate. The tumor has not raised its ugly head. I feel part of the NBTS, which is so supportive for me, and knitting provides a sense of artistic creation. So, Knitting for Brains, an odd synergy of craft and fund-raising, is perfect for me!"
