The Beginning

She’ll always have Paris. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, Dori Csengeri’s passion for the synergy of art and fashion moved her to study textile design at the world’s leading institutions in Tel Aviv, London, Zurich and Paris.

Dori Csengeri began making handmade jewelry, both spectacular and wearable, in a small Paris studio where she explored the melding of haute couture with tangibility to create daring, but accessible pieces.

By 1992, her vision extended to New York, Tokyo and Barcelona and everywhere sophisticated, transforming creations are appreciated. Over the next ten years, her recognition grew and, full circle, she opened a Paris office in 2004.

The Heart

To Dori Csengeri, jewelry creations are about beauty—treasures of color and texture. Inspired by art and organic forms, Dori’s pieces evoke just the right combination of confidence, fun and expectation that foreshadow a glorious lunch date or evening out.

Dori’s contemporary designs adapt old-world embroidery and beading techniques that engage the cultural traditions of her embroidery artists, a group of women, most from various states of the Russian Federation and some from Ethiopia. Employment with Dori eases their transition into a new country and new language—Dori provides these talented artisans a studio (or atelier) working environment that is stimulating, fair pay and full benefits, including pension funds, insurance and flexible hours. Many become long-term employees, remaining well after their transition phase to Israel is long over.
